RWBY Volume 2 Episode 4 Review Painting the Town

The latest Episode of RWBY Volume 2 Episode 4 Review Painting the Town was a return back to the action, and there was a ton of it. This episode was full of great scenes and moments. I think the best scenes were the combination attacks from team RWBY, where we got to see Monty Oum do some of his best work to date! We also got to see Junior again for the first time since the trailer, which they hinted at in the last episode. You have to watch the Yellow Trailer for RWBY to understand what is going on in this scene. We go a bit more insight into Penny and her character, Ruby had the reaction you’d expect to finding out Penny is a robot girl. We got to see more of Son and Neptune, they didn’t do anything particularly memorable for most of the episode but the end scene with them paid it off in a funny way! Torchwick got to steal the show for a bit, (pun intended) and he really is a “smooth criminal”. The battle between him and the girls of team RWBY was nothing short of epic.

We got to see some great combos in this episode:

  • Freezer Burn: Yang and Wies
  • Check Mate: Wies and Blake
  • Lady Bug: Blake and Ruby
  • Bumble Bee: Blake and Yang
  • Ice Flower: Ruby and Wies

We didn’t get to see a combo between Ruby and Yang which is interesting since they would likely have the most experience fighting together as sisters.

One of the funnier bits they have running in this season is everyone calling Wies Ice Queen, even Roman Torchwick is in on it at this point! I don’t see that joke getting old any time soon, and neither will this series. This episode gets a 9/10.
