As  I said earlier, all manner of craziness ensued in this episode. We finally got see Valvrave Unit 02 and Valrave Unit 06, (more on that later), we got to see L-ELF get his ass kicked by his mentor and see that he is not quite a Heero Yui clone after all. But who I’d really like to focus on in this review is a character that has been up to this point a little under developed in my opinion despite playing a major role in a  lot of what is happening, and that i Akira. She helped organize a lot of what is going on in the series and gives the other characters help and information they wouldn’t have otherwise. Aside frome L-ELF she is probably the most intelligent and strategic character in Module 77. However she suffers from an anxiety disorder and trauma caused by early childhood bullying.valverave 12 episode review 02 Valvrave Episode 12 Review

Confronted with the prospect of loosing her first real friend Shoko during the attack on the Module from the enemies giant drill, Akira overcomes her nearly crippling fear to help her friend by accessing Valvrave Unit 06 and save everyone. I have to actually give Shoko credit in this episode for her unwillingness to forget about or abandon Akira, and being the catalyst for her overcoming her internal trauma.

Valvrave Episode 12 Review | Valvrave Unit 06

This episode and finale had a lot of action it, but it also developed some more questions for us regarding the plot and the origin of the Valvraves and what they are. We find out that this not the first generation of Valvrave’s or pilots developed, they are in fact 3rd Generation. We also find out that Unit 02 is unique in the same way (or maybe somewhat different) as Unit 01 and has a more demonic Navi attached to it.

Overall I have to rate this episode a 8 of 10, it was a great episode by itself but I can’t stand the fact that we are left with this much of a cliff hanger and so many questions until some time in October.
